In terms of distribution, the main issue for AXA is how quickly will it implement new technological tools to improve its customer service and experience. Upstream, the transformation will be even more profound because of the traditional barriers to enter the insurance market: data accumulation. This barrier has all but disappeared because Internet giants have amassed such huge amounts of personal data. The challenge is substantial. 950 million euros are scheduled to be invested in digital technologies between 2013 and 2015.
